Who We Are
Our website address is: https://www.riflescopeshop.com
What Personal Data We Collect and Why
Comments
When submitting a comment, in addition to the information entered in the comment form, the commenter's IP address and browser user agent string are also collected for spam detection purposes.
An anonymised string generated from the commenter's email address (commonly known as a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service, if it is in use on the site. The Gravatar privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once a comment is approved, the comment content and profile picture become publicly visible.
Media
If a registered user uploads images to the website, images containing embedded GPS location data (EXIF data) should be avoided. Visitors to the website may download such images and extract location information from them.
Contact Forms
The website contains no contact forms other than the order form and the product review form. The website operator can be contacted by telephone or standard email. The relevant email address and phone number are available in the website footer.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on the site, you may opt to save your name, email address, and website URL in cookies for your convenience, so that these fields do not need to be filled in again for future comments. These cookies expire after one month.
When you visit the login page, a temporary cookie is set to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.
Logging into the website creates several cookies that save your login information and display preferences for the admin interface. Login cookies are valid for two days, and display preference cookies last for one month. If you select the "Remember Me" option, your login session will persist for two weeks. Cookies are removed upon logging out.
When you edit or publish a post or page, an additional cookie is stored in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data — it simply stores the ID of the post you edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Posts on this website may include embedded content from external sources (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if you had visited those websites directly.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies or third-party tracking scripts, and monitor your interactions with the embedded content — including if you have an account and are logged in to those sites.
Analytics
Website analytics are provided by Google Analytics. The applicable data processing policy is available on Google's website.
Who We Share Your Data With
We share data with Google Analytics only.
How Long We Retain Your Data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically, without them being held in a moderation queue.
Personal data of registered users on the website (where applicable) is also stored in their user profile. Each user may view, edit, or delete their personal data at any time, with the exception that usernames cannot be changed. Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
What Rights You Have Over Your Data
If you have an account on this website or have left comments, you may request an export file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have previously provided. You may also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not apply to data we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Your Data Is Sent
Comments submitted by visitors may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
