The 11 mm dovetail rail has been a standard feature on air rifles, .22 rimfire platforms and many traditional hunting rifles for decades. The problem is increasingly obvious: the selection of mounts designed specifically for 11 mm rails is limited, and quality is inconsistent. Picatinny-compatible mounts, on the other hand, are available in an enormous range of designs, heights and materials – with tighter manufacturing tolerances and far more choice.

Design and operating principle
The adapter consists of two independent, short elements (approx. 26 mm each). This two-piece design is intentional: unlike long, single-piece rail inserts, these sit only where the mount feet actually are – they do not block the loading port, obscure the action, or interfere with case ejection.
Each element incorporates a spring-loaded mechanism. Two small internal springs push the two halves apart, allowing the adapter to clip directly into the slot of a Picatinny mount base and remain there during assembly. The final lock is provided by the mount itself: as the ring bolts are tightened, the adapter is drawn firmly onto the 11 mm rail, creating a stable and secure connection.
Minimal height increase
The adapter is machined from solid aluminium and measures 4 mm in total height. The groove that accepts the 11 mm rail is 2 mm deep, so the net height added above the rail surface is approx. 4 mm – a fraction of what most comparable adapters add. Many alternatives raise the optic by 10–12 mm, which shifts the sight line and affects the ergonomics of the rifle. With this adapter, the scope sits almost as low as it would with a native Picatinny rail.
Installation
Installation requires a little care but is straightforward. Clip each adapter element into the base of the Picatinny mount foot – the spring mechanism holds it in position. Slide the assembled unit onto the 11 mm rail and tighten the mount bolts to lock everything in place. Ensure both adapter elements are aligned parallel and level with each other to keep the optic straight.
