Discoveryopt LHT 4.5-18X42SFIR FFP — lightweight, feature-rich riflescope for hunting and sport shooting
The Discoveryopt LHT series was designed specifically for shooters and hunters who refuse to compromise between functionality and portability. The LHT 4.5-18X42SFIR FFP was built in that spirit: compact dimensions, solid optical and mechanical solutions, at an affordable price.
First focal plane reticle — valid ballistics at every magnification
The FFP layout means the MOA graduations of the reticle are accurate at every magnification level. There is no need to calculate in your head or remember what power you are dialled to — ballistic holdovers and wind corrections can be read off immediately. This advantage really shows itself when you need to react quickly to changing distances in the field.
The etched reticle is not a wire-based solution: it is engraved directly into the glass, so it will not shift or move under heavy recoil. The centre-point red illumination is adjustable across 6 brightness levels, each with an individual on/off switch — delivering a contrasting, clearly visible aiming point in twilight and low light without blinding the shooter.
Optics — multi-coated lenses, 42 mm objective
The 42 mm fully multi-coated objective lens gathers available light efficiently, so image quality remains clear even at dusk and in overcast conditions. Exit pupil measures 9.0 mm at 4.5x and 2.2 mm at 18x — meaning maximum use of the eye's night-time dilation at low power, and a sufficiently tight, focused image at high magnification.
Eye relief is approximately 85–89 mm — a safe distance on hard-recoiling rifles, and forgiving enough of small head-position variations to be a genuine advantage in the field.
Side parallax adjustment — 10 yards to infinity
The side parallax dial, located on the left of the turret housing, adjusts from 10 yards (approx. 9 m) to infinity. This opens up an exceptionally wide range of use: air rifles and .22 rimfire at close range, centrefire rifles at longer distances — all can be precisely focused. The side-mounted placement means quick adjustment without disturbing the turrets.
Lockable turrets, 1/4 MOA clicks
Elevation and windage corrections are made via 1/4 MOA click-adjustable turrets with a locking function. The lock prevents accidental movement in the field, keeping zero reliably through long outings. Total elevation travel is 86 MOA and windage 60 MOA — sufficient for the vast majority of hunting and sport shooting applications.
Tube and mechanical construction
The 30 mm one-piece tube machined from 6061 aluminium is nitrogen-filled, making it fog-proof even during sudden temperature changes. The IP67 waterproof rating means it can withstand brief submersion to 1 metre — usable in rain, fog and heavy dew without concern. Recoil resistance handles the kick of medium-calibre centrefire rifles without issue.

Who is this riflescope recommended for?
The Discoveryopt LHT 4.5-18X42SFIR FFP is an ideal choice for hunters looking for a light, reliable optic for stalking and high-seat use; for sport shooters who want to take advantage of FFP reticle precision without paying a premium-brand price; and for air rifle and .22 rimfire shooters for whom side parallax adjustment at short distances is essential. If you want genuine field-ready features — lockable turrets, FFP, side parallax, IP67 — within a sensible budget, this model deserves serious consideration.
